Materials Needed:

  • 1 small paper plate
  • Yellow paint or yellow tissue paper
  • Orange construction paper
  • Googly eyes (or draw eyes with marker)
  • Glue stick
  • Safety scissors (adult assistance for younger kids)
  • Feathers (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Paint the Plate:
    Let the kids paint the paper plate yellow. (Or, glue ripped-up pieces of yellow tissue paper if you want a mess-free version.)
  2. Make the Beak:
    Cut a small triangle out of orange paper and glue it to the center of the plate for the beak.
  3. Add Eyes:
    Stick on googly eyes or draw them above the beak with a black marker.
  4. Create Wings and Feet:
    Cut small wings and feet out of orange construction paper. Glue the wings to the sides of the plate and the feet to the bottom.
  5. (Optional) Add Feathers:
    Glue colorful feathers to the top for a fun, fluffy touch!
